Have installed the third cam, but not bought the license for SS. I have 2 of them recording via SS (the newest ver 5.something) right now, doing 24x7 for 30 days with alarmrec 10secs before/after and so far I'm at 1.5tb of stored video. So I got the NAS (TS-251,4gig,SG2x5tb), a POE switch for my network rack and 3 wired Dahua 3mp IPC-HFW4300S cams. And yes, 16 days later the cars were recovered, beat to ** with 2500 miles on them. My wife lost two new cars while she was watching TV 20 feet away from where they hopped a fence, came in the ** and grabbed her purse/keys and then quietly drove them out of the garage. My NAS-purchase came in December after I was robbed at my newly remodeled (DIY fully-wired cat6 plus coax with a central rack and 24port switch, UPS, ATT Uverse VDSL, Motorola3801 gateway, 2x UniFiPRO wifi accesspoints) home while being over here at work. But I will toss this out a primer on my situ and see if there are any glaring issues that I can deal with simply. I believe my best action is to start reading these posts to learn what has likely already been covered to some extent. At home in 10 days, I will begin to explore what I have back there and see if I can refine my questions and provide some succinct info. First, I am currently on a ship off Africa so I have only slow satellite access to anything outside this little world called work where I spend 28 days and then get home for 25. I'm not new to forums, but have a ways to go to get my feet under me here.

I haven't even figured out how to add my signature here. Have you submitted a ticket with the QNAP Helpdesk about this issue?Īlistair, Sorry for the minimal first post. Have you tried all three of these browsers for this purpose? The add-on for your browser may be only 32bit, so it might require use of a 32bit Web Browser, which might be challenging in this age of 64bit computers and 64bit Web Browsers. QNAP claims it can be used by Chrome, Firefox or IE.

I assumed that you couldn't reach the WebUI based on your terse description of the issue. If you can already access the Surveillance Station WebUI remotely, then my advice wasn't very useful to you. ( QNAP still hasn't developed a Linux client for it). I can not use Surveillance Station at all here. Has this anything to do with the port forwarding suggestion? Thanks I'm afraid I can't help with that part.

Then i retry on my Chrome browser and it is as if nothing has been installed, since it again asks me to install Qmon. I can access the NAS QTS remotely, but when I click on the Surveilance Station monitor and playback buttons, it asks me to install a Qmon.exe, which I do.
